CHURCH
The church was started by Jesus Christ and empowered on the day of Pentecost. The function of the church is to go into the world and preach the gospel, (Matt. 28:19,20) then to baptise and disciple the saved. Jesus Christ is the head of the church and the pastor is the undershepherd (Hebrews 13:7). The other office of the church is the deacon, with the ministry of serving and assisting the pastor (Acts 6:1-4). There are two ordinances given to the church, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Matthew 3:6-16; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28
CREATION
We believe in the Genesis account of the creation. God created every thing in the span of 5 literal days and on the sixth day created man in His likeness followed by resting on the seventh day. Genesis 1,2; Romans 1:20
GOD
There is one true and living God who is the ruler of everything known and unknown to man. He is infinite, without error, omniscient, omnipotent and without beginning. God consists of Himself (father) His son (Jesus Christ) and His Spirit (the Holy Ghost). Genesis 1:1, 17:1; John 5:39, 45-47.
HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is divine equal with God the Father and Jesus Christ. He convicts the saved person of sin and bears witness to the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ thru preaching and teaching. Once a person is saved, they are filled with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit then points out the sins of a believer and shows them how to live, pray and worship. Romans 8:14-16, 26,27; 1Peter1:2.
RETURN OF CHRIST
We believe that Christ will return in the air, in a twinkling of an eye, and the dead in Christ will rise first and we which remain will meet Him in the air. 1Thessalonians 4:16; 1Corinthians 15:51-58.
SALVATION
We believe that, thru the death and resurrection of Jesus, man’s sins are covered by His blood. A person need only call on the name of the Lord and repent of sins to be saved. His free gift is available to all who have ever been and ever will be. He foreknew who would be saved, but did not pre-select them at any time. Salvation is by God’s grace alone and cannot be earned by any amount of good works. Romans 6:23, 9-13; 2 Peter 3:9; Ephesians 2:8,9. At no time can a man lose or give back this salvation. God holds them in His hand until His return. John 10:28,29.
SCRIPTURE
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. God spoke to men who wrote what He said as He said. It is truth and without error, therefore it is the only written statement to man from God. It is the only and ultimate guide to the believer. We believe the King James Bible is the inspired preserved Word for the English speaking people. Ephesians 6:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
VIRGIN BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST
We believe that God put His seed (Jesus Christ) into Mary, and she, being a virgin woman, gave birth to the Christ child. Matthew 1:18-25.
